Sebastian Bonolis è un direttore della fotografia. Fin da giovane incomincia a lavorare  lavorare in piccole produzioni indipendenti. Inizia la sua formazione alla NYU Tisch School of Arts, per poi concluderla presso il Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia di Roma dove è stato allievo di Giuseppe Lanci. Al momento lavora come direttore della fotografia su Roma. Tra i suoi lavori, “Reginetta” ha vinto il Miglior Contributo Tecnico alla Biennale del Cinema di Venezia mentre “L’avversario” ha avuto la nomination allo Student Academy Award. 

 

Il suo lavoro è motivato dalla necessità di raccontare storie attraverso il linguaggio cinematografico nel modo più immersivo possibile. Il suo focus principale quando lavora è costruire un rapporto tra lo spettatore e il film in sé.

Sebastian Bonolis is a cinematographer based in Rome. He studied cinematography at NYU Tisch School of Arts and then graduated from the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia di Roma - Italian National Film School. He worked on numerous indipendent productions as a cinematographer and camera operator and shot many narrative short films and music videos in Rome. His work "L'avversario" was nominated at the Student Academy Award 2022 in the Narrative section while "Reginetta" won the the "Best Technical Contribution" award at the 79th Venice Film Festival, in the Critic's week section.

His work is motivated by the need of telling stories through the moving image in the most immersive way and focuses on the relationship between film and the spectator before anything else.
